Topic: OUR TEXTBOOK
The Bible is the most important book in existence. It is the guidebook and the textbook of life. People who think it's like any other book just don't know the author. Once they know the author, then suddenly this book takes on a different perspective.
All Scripture is given by inspiration from God. It is perfect for teaching, reproving, correcting, and instructing so that the person of God will be complete (lacking nothing) and thoroughly equipped (remember, lacking nothing) for every good work.
There is no God-given desire or assignment for which He will not entirely equip you. And there is absolutely no situation you can encounter or circumstance you can experience for which you cannot find guidance in God's Word.
This book was authored by omniscience, that is, by our all-knowing God. Yet He summarized His revelation of Himself to us within the pages of this relatively tiny book.
Your prestige, prominence, position, and pocketbook may be of value today, but what will all of that do for you when you're dying? The Bible is good enough to live by and good enough to die by. And if your philosophy of life isn't good enough for both, then you need to dump it, meet the author of the Bible, accept Christ as your Savior, and delve into His textbook.
Which area(s) of the Bible have you (and Christians in general) often ignored? Why, and how can we begin to better study these neglected areas?
